The 3 Vallées ski area comprises seven resorts—Courchevel, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Val Thorens, and Orelle—and offers accessible peaks at altitudes of over 3,000 meters, with guaranteed snow cover. Vanoise National Park is located between the Maurienne and Tarentaise valleys and features around a hundred peaks, the highest of which is the Grande Casse. Renowned for its rich biodiversity, it is home to France's largest colonies of ibex, chamois, and golden eagles, as well as a wealth of alpine flora.
